Why tag orders based on Country or Country + Region
If your fulfillment workflow or shipping process differs depending on the country or region or Country + Region that an order is being shipped to, then highlighting these orders via an order tag can save you and your team a great deal of time.
This criteria mirrors the available Countries and Regions that are available for customers to select when they checkout on a Shopify store. Therefore, this criteria can match any combination of Country + Region selected in the shipping address of an order, allowing you to create more targeted tagging workflows.
Examples of countries with regions
The following are examples of countries that will all also have an additional region selected in the shipping address:
If the shipping address country is South Africa, you can also specify a Province:
If the shipping address country is the United States, you can also specify a State:
If the shipping address country is Japan, you can also specify a Prefecture:
If the shipping address country is New Zealand, you can also specify a Region:
If the shipping address country is Chile, you can also specify a Region:
If the shipping address country is Canada, you can also specify a Province or Territory:
If the shipping address country is China, you can also specify a Province:
If the shipping address country is Australia, you can also specify a State or Territory:
How to set-up the criteria
To create a workflow using this criteria, click on the Create New Workflow button from the main Workflows view:

The Country (and optional province) in the shipping address criteria can be found within the Shipping category in the Select criteria pop-up window:

You will then see the following configurable options within the criteria:
Depending on which country you are looking to target with your workflow, there may be one or two criteria options available.
Selecting the Country
Select whether your workflow is looking to match or not match a specific shipping country by selecting is or is NOT from the first dropdown selector:
Now select the country that you are either trying to match or not match with this workflow:
Selecting the optional State, Region, Territory, Prefecture or Province
For those countries with optional States, Regions, Territories, Prefectures or Provinces, another set of dropdown selectors will be presented:
Select whether your workflow is looking to match or not match a specific State, Region, Territory, Prefecture or Province by selecting is or is NOT from the third dropdown selector:
Now click on the State, Region, Territory, Prefecture or Province dropdown to reveal the available regions:

Defining the Tag name
Define the tag name/names that you would like to be applied when the workflow matches your criteria (don't forget to click the Add fixed tag button):
Saving and naming your workflow
It's worth giving your workflow a name to help you identify it at a later date, so add a workflow name in the New Workflow section, check the summary of your workflow and if happy, either Test your Workflow against an existing order or hit Save Workflow:
Create a workflow for each combination of Country or Country + Region in the Shipping address that you need to help you with your fulfillment workflow.
This criteria option will work if you choose to Backdate your orders.
Only the Shipping Country field is available as a Dynamic Tag. This will apply the name of the shipping address country to each order as a tag.
